What is the parkingSensor used for?
The parkingSensor is used to make parking easier or to check whether a parking space is occupied. This data is relayed to the user via 4 outputs to which, for example, an RGB/RGBW LED strip can be connected to indicate, by colour, the distance of the car from the virtual wall.
How is the distance indicated?
The indication takes place in four stages by controlling three outputs and signalling whether a space is occupied via one output:
Output R flashes and the others are switched off within a range of 0–4 cm from the artificial wall.
It switches on output R and switches off the others within a range of 4–17 cm from the artificial wall.
It switches on output B and switches off the others within a range of 17–48 cm from the artificial wall.
It activates output G and deactivates the others within a range of 48–140 cm from the artificial wall.
What is a virtual wall? How do you set it up?
A virtual wall is a configurable plane in space from which the parkingSensor measures distance. A description of the configuration is provided in the parkingSensor manual.
How do you power the parking sensor?
From the same power supply as the LED strip. Supply voltage: 7–24 V DC.
Does the parking sensor have Wi-Fi? Can its status be read or transmitted via Wi-Fi?
The parkingSensor does not have Wi-Fi. Transmitting its status via Wi-Fi is possible using a Wi-Fi controller and actions, e.g. the inputSensor D or Q controller, or the switchBoxDC.
By connecting the parkingSensor’s output to the controller’s push-button input and configuring actions, you can control other devices via a static IP address on the local network, based on whether a parking space is occupied. The extended manual, which can be found on the blebox.eu website or at this address, will be useful for this. For advanced users, we recommend the API technical documentation.
