# What are ‘Actions’?

**What are ‘actions’ in BleBox controllers?**
‘Actions’ refer to a configurable module within the controller’s settings. It allows you to control a device or controller as required when specific conditions are detected (e.g. switch on the light after a short press of a button (switch) connected to the controller, switch it off after a long press of the button (switch)). The module distinguishes between short and long clicks, as well as signal edges (any, falling, rising) – in response to these, it can perform actions depending on the type of controller (e.g. for the switchBox, these are: switch on, switch on for a set time, switch off, direct state, opposite state).

**How do I create a ‘control another device’ action?**
This action allows you to wirelessly control another BleBox device (e.g. a central button for roller blinds, a button to switch off all the lights in the house, heating control, closing the roller blinds above a certain temperature) without knowing the IP address. The ‘Control Another Device’ action is triggered when specific conditions are met (e.g. the module distinguishes between long and short clicks and signal edges).
To set up an action, go to the controller’s settings, locate the ‘Actions’ module, and then click ‘Add new entry’. After selecting a trigger, the ‘Select Device’ tab will display a list of BleBox devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network and assigned to your account. Finally, name and save the new action.

**How do you create a ‘Call URL (GET)’ action?**
The ‘Send URL’ action, much like the ‘Control another device’ action, allows you to control BleBox devices wirelessly, but also enables you to control devices from other manufacturers or collect information via a Wi-Fi network. The ‘Send URL’ action, much like a standard action, is executed when specified conditions are met, but it sends a GET request to the specified IP address. Please note that the IP address should be static, i.e. it should not change each time you connect to the Internet; you should check this in your router’s DHCP settings.
To set up the action, go to the controller’s settings, locate the ‘Actions’ module, and then click ‘Add new entry’. After selecting the trigger, in the “Call URL (GET)” tab, enter the IP address of the BleBox device connected to the same Wi-Fi network and assigned to the account, along with the GET command. A detailed description of the API and a list of all GET commands is available via this link: [https://technical.blebox.eu/](https://technical.blebox.eu/). You can check the controller’s IP address in the ‘Connection’ tab. Finally, name and save the new action.
