# The wBox app

**What is the wBox app? Where can I find the wBox app?**The wBox app is used for both basic and advanced control (grouping, creating scenes) of BleBox controllers. It is available on [Android](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.blebox.wBox&hl=pl), [iOS](https://apps.apple.com/pl/app/wbox-by-blebox-eu/id1000135997?l=pl) and [Windows](https://blebox.eu/pl/aplikacja-wbox/).

**Is the app free?**
Yes, wBox is free and available to download from Google Play and the App Store.

**Do I need to create an account? How does the guest mode differ?**
We recommend creating an account; you can do this in a few seconds via Google, Facebook, Apple or a BleBox account. You can also use the app without logging in, but the functionality is very limited; this mode is primarily intended for installers who are setting up a device on a one-off basis. With an account, you gain, amongst other things, remote access from outside your home, the ability to create scenes and groups, and the option to share devices with others.

**What are ‘homes’, ‘favourites’ and ‘scenes’ in the wBox app?**
A ‘home’ is simply a logical grouping of controllers located in a particular house or location. This is useful if you use BleBox controllers in many different locations (e.g. two homes, workplace + home).
‘Favourites’ is a logical way of separating your favourite controllers from the rest. This is useful for controllers you use frequently or those you want quick access to (e.g. gates, side gates, etc.)
. A scene is a set of actions or commands sent simultaneously to controllers of the same or different types. (e.g. the ‘cinema’ scene closes the blinds and switches off the lights, or the ‘leaving home’ scene: switching everything off).

**How** do I **set the order of the controllers in the wBox app?**
From the home control list, click the arrow icon next to the list of controllers. You can then drag the ‘tile’ to any position, including the ‘favourites’ section.

**What are ‘Favourites’ and how do you use them?**
‘Favourites’ is a separate section where you can keep the devices you use most often or want quick access to, such as a gate or a wicket. The Favourites list is shared across your entire account and does not change depending on which property you are currently switched to.

**How**do I **add a device to my favourites?**
Go to the list of devices, select the device in question and add it to your favourites by clicking on the ‘heart’ icon. Alternatively, whilst on the home control list, long-press the controller’s ‘tile’, then drag it to the ‘favourites’ section.

**How do widgets work on the home screen?**
Widgets allow you to launch a scene without opening the app – simply add the wBox widget to your phone’s home screen, just like any other system widget.

**What are groups in the wBox app and how does the default device categorisation work?**
A group is a logical collection of several controllers, useful, for example, for organising devices by room. By default, the app sorts devices into standard categories, such as ‘Roller blinds’ or ‘Gates’; the icon selected for a device determines which category it is placed in. If you set the roller blind icon, the device will appear in the ‘Roller blinds’ category. It’s worth bearing this in mind during setup, as changing the icon also changes where the device appears.

Regardless of this, you can also create your own groups manually. If a group is homogeneous – that is, it contains devices of the same type (e.g. only roller blinds) – you can open or close all the roller blinds in the group at once with a single click, without having to access each device individually.
