# saunaBox / saunaBox PRO

**What is the saunaBox / saunaBox PRO used for?**
These devices are designed to regulate the temperature of any heating unit compatible with an external controller. They are suitable for dry sauna heaters, infrared (IR) heaters and wet sauna heaters (with manually doused stones). The temperature can be set using a smartphone or the touch-sensitive buttons on the unit’s casing. The controller features a colour-backlit control panel (ranging from blue, through light blue, white, yellow and orange to red), which provides additional visual feedback on the current temperature. Temperature control is possible within a range of -50°C to 120°C.

**What power rating of heater can be connected to the saunaBox / saunaBox PRO controller?**
Any! Single-phase heaters with a power rating of up to 3.5 kW (1x16A) or three-phase heaters with a power rating not exceeding 11 kW (3x16A) can be connected directly to the controller’s outputs. We have included example wiring diagrams in the manual. You can also connect heaters with a higher power rating by using an external contactor.

**Can additional lighting, a fan or an aromatherapy unit be connected to the saunaBox / saunaBox PRO controller?**
The saunaBox controller does not have any additional outputs; however, additional accessories can easily be connected to other modules from the BleBox range, allowing you to tailor the system to your own needs.

 Thanks to the wBox app and control scenes, you can switch on all devices with a single click and, if necessary, adjust the settings via your smartphone, the uRemote control or the buttons on the inBox module.

 Additional features that can be added to the saunaBox:

 switchBox / switchBoxD – for controlling 230V AC lighting;
wLightBox / wLightBoxS – for 12–24V LED lighting, enabling the creation of lighting effects;
switchBox / switchBoxLite – for controlling 230V ventilation, switchBoxDC – for 12–24V ventilation,
proxiSwitch – contactless or invisible buttons for aromatherapy, dispensers or switching on the lights

**Where should the temperature probe be placed? How long can the probe be?**
The probe should be positioned in accordance with the stove manufacturer’s instructions. If the stove manufacturer has not specified the probe’s position, it is recommended to fit the probe 15 cm from the ceiling and approximately 30–50 cm from the edge of the stove. Avoid placing the probe near ventilation elements (grilles, doors, windows). The final decision on the probe’s location is made by the installer. It is not recommended to extend the original temperature probe cable excessively, as induced interference may cause the probe or controller to malfunction.

**Can the saunaBox / saunaBox PRO controller be fitted flush with the wall or within the panelling?**
Please note that the controller must be removable and that access to the cables and sensor must be unobstructed (e.g. by concealing them in a conduit). The controller MUST NOT be installed inside the sauna room!

**The control unit displays a ‘sensor fault’ – what should I do?**
The ‘sensor fault’ message means that the safety system has detected a problem with the sensor. If this is the first time you are starting the system up, please check that the connections are correct (ensure connectors are tight, there are no short circuits, and the wire colours are in the correct order). If the controller had been working correctly for some time and has suddenly stopped working, please reset the power supply and check again – if the problem persists, please contact our technical support team.

**How do I change the temperature range?**
The range of adjustable temperatures available in the control interface may be limited for ease of use – for example, the maximum temperature may be 80 °C and the minimum 50 °C. To change this, click the cog icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen, then go to the ‘Device settings’ tab. Here, you can set the minimum and maximum temperatures, allowing you to tailor the controller’s operation to your individual needs.

**What is ‘centre button mode’?**
‘Centre button mode’ is a setting that prevents the controller from being activated accidentally. In the settings, you can choose whether the controller is activated by a single tap or a triple tap of the button. For safety reasons, we recommend selecting the “triple tap” option.

**How else can I protect the controller?**An additional safety feature for the controller is the automatic switch-off function, available in the device settings. Once enabled, you can set a time after which the controller will switch itself off automatically. This ensures that the heater will not run all night, even if you forget to switch the controller off. Furthermore, it is worth considering fitting a door-opening sensor which switches off the heater the moment the sauna door is opened – this prevents the heater from being switched on accidentally if the door is not fully closed.
