**What is the proxiDimmer controller used for?**
The proxiDimmer controller is a dimmer for LEDs powered by 12V or 24V DC. Dimming is achieved by moving your hand close to the controller, which is positioned, for example, inside a lamp, under a worktop or on the side of a cupboard.

**How do you switch the light on and dim it?**
Moving your hand quickly towards and away from the controller will switch the LED on or off. To dim the light, simply bring your hand close to the controller and hold it there briefly – the controller will then gradually brighten or dim the LED accordingly.

**What types of LEDs does the proxiDimmer support?**
The proxiDimmer controller supports 1 channel, and therefore monochromatic LED strips (single-colour, e.g. white).

**How should the proxiDimmer be powered, and what is the maximum load?**
The maximum load is 5A, which corresponds to 60W for a 12V power supply or 120W for a 24V power supply. It is recommended that you use a high-quality power supply. Using a ‘no-name’ power supply with high levels of interference may cause the device to malfunction. The output power can be increased by using an [**ampBox**](https://blebox.eu/produkty) amplifier[**.**](https://blebox.eu/produkty)

**Can the sensor be fitted near or on metal parts?**
Metal parts and cables ‘conduct touch’, which is often an undesirable effect. Fitting the sensor behind a metal partition will completely render it incapable of detecting touch.

**Does the proxiDimmer have Wi-Fi? Can its status be read or transmitted via Wi-Fi?**
The proxiDimmer controller does not have Wi-Fi. To transmit status via Wi-Fi, you need to connect the proxiSwitch controller to another controller with Wi-Fi (e.g. switchBoxDC, wLightBox), and configure the appropriate actions on that controller.

**The proxiDimmer controller is behaving strangely – what should I do?**
It is recommended that you use a high-quality power supply. Using a ‘no-name’ power supply that generates significant interference may cause the device to malfunction. In addition, it is recommended to keep the controller separate from any high-power devices. Furthermore, please bear in mind that liquids and metals ‘conduct’ touch.
