# gateBox/gateBox PRO

**How does the gateBox controller differ from the gateBox PRO?**
Unlike the gateBox controller, the gateBox PRO controller has an additional external antenna socket. Each controller comes with an antenna, which increases the range. It is ideal for gates situated some distance from a residential building. The product also offers enhanced weather resistance (IP54).

**Can the gateBox / gateBox PRO controller read the gate’s status?**
Yes, the gateBox / gateBox PRO controller can display the gate’s status – whether it is fully ‘open’, ‘closed’ or in an intermediate position. This is an optional feature; to use it, you must connect the relevant pins on the controller (IN1, IN2 and COM) to the corresponding pins on the control unit. If the control unit does not have a status indication function, you can fit an additional set of reed switches (i.e. position sensors) or dedicated reed switches. The installation diagram is included in the controllers’ manual. If the inputs are not connected, the gate status will be displayed as ‘partially open’.

**Can a camera be connected to the controller?**
Yes, provided that the camera supports MJPEG streaming. In this case, enter the stream address in the controller’s settings.

**Can I also open the gate using a remote control?**
Yes, the control unit does not affect the operation of the gate’s original remote controls. Furthermore, it is possible to pair remote controls from the Blebox range with the control unit, such as the uRemote, sRemote or inBox.

**Can a button be connected to the gateBox / gateBox PRO controller?**
The controller does not have a terminal for connecting an external button, but a monostable button can be connected in parallel to the OUT1 output of the gateBox / gateBox PRO controller – pressing it will open or close the gate, in the same way as the controller’s output signal.

**How do I connect the gateBox / gatebox PRO to my gate control unit?**
A general wiring diagram can be found in the controller’s user manual, available **[at this address](https://blebox.eu/instrukcje).** Wiring diagrams for various types of control units can be found [**at this address.**](https://blebox.eu/instrukcje/schematy-gatebox/) For non-standard control units, please contact our technical support department.
