# tempSensor DIN

**What is the tempSensor DIN and how does it differ from the other controllers in the tempSensor range?**
The tempSensor DIN is a wireless Wi-Fi temperature sensor designed for mounting on a DIN rail in an electrical switchboard. Powered by a 230V AC mains supply, it enables simultaneous measurement at up to 4 remote points using waterproof probes. The device allows for the connection of cables to probes up to 100 metres in length, making the tempSensor DIN ideal wherever the measurement point is far from the controller’s installation site – e.g. in boiler rooms, greenhouses, cold stores and smokehouses. The other models in the tempSensor series are more compact and designed for applications where the sensor and controller are located close to one another.

**Are the probes included in the set?**
No, the probes are available as an accessory.

**What lengths are the probes available in?**
tempProbe probes are available with the following cable lengths: 1 m, 2 m, 5 m, 10 m, 15 m and 30 m. We also manufacture a 100 m version, available to order.

**Can I set my own alerts when the temperature exceeds a certain threshold?**
Yes. The controller supports push notifications to your smartphone — when the temperature exceeds or falls below a set threshold — as well as periodic reports. ‘Custom Notifications’ with placeholders are available, e.g.: *‘The temperature in the aquarium has risen above 27°C and is: {temp_c.0}°C*’. The controller must be permanently connected to the internet and the remote access option must be enabled (this is enabled by default).

**Can the controller automatically control other BleBox devices?**
Yes — based on the temperature reading, it can wirelessly control other BleBox controllers on the same Wi-Fi network, including:
- sockets/relays (switchBox, switchBox DIN) — e.g. switch on a fan if the temperature is too high — roller shutters and actuators (shutterBox) — e.g. close the roller shutters when it’s too warm — LED lighting (wLightBox, pixelBox)
For controlling heating or cooling, dedicated controllers are recommended: thermoBox or saunaBox (with built-in hysteresis). The ‘wireless client isolation’ option in the router must be disabled.
