# dimmerBox

**What is the dimmerBox controller used for?**
The BleBox dimmerBox controller is used to adjust the brightness of lighting powered by 230V with a power rating of up to 200W. It allows you to smoothly dim and brighten the lights via the wBox app.

**What types of light sources can be used?**
The dimmerBox is primarily designed for resistive loads, i.e. ‘traditional’ light bulbs. In the case of LED light sources (e.g. LED bulbs), you must check the labelling – the bulb must be marked ‘dimmable’ or bear the dimmer symbol. Bulbs without this marking must not be connected to the controller as they may cause irreversible damage to it! The maximum recommended power for bulbs in a circuit controlled by the dimmerBox is 30W; however, it is recommended to use no more than 5 bulbs per circuit (e.g. 5 bulbs at 6W each). Due to the varying electronics used by bulb and luminaire manufacturers, it is not always possible to determine the controller’s compatibility with specific luminaires. For dimming low-voltage LED lighting (e.g. 12/24V LED strips), we have a separate range of controllers, namely the wLightBox and wLightBoxS, also available in Pro and DIN versions.

**Can other devices be connected to the dimmerBox?**
The controller is compatible with other resistive loads, such as heaters and heating lamps (ceramic infrared bulbs) up to 200W.

**Can buttons be connected to the dimmerBox controller?**
Yes, two monostable buttons without backlighting can be connected to the dimmerBox. It can operate in both single-button and dual-button (dimming) modes.

**Can the dimmerBox controller be set to run for a specific duration?**
Yes, the BleBox dimmerBox controller can be set to run for a specific duration using the API or via schedules. The app does not have a native ‘timed activation’ function accessible via the app interface.
